You know that the experience of a woman is different from a man’s (being different doesn’t imply inferiority). 

But the fact that women are expected to operate in life and business as a man is absurd! 

Men and women have been created differently for a reason and I want you to live your life embracing this truth and accepting it. 

We’re going to begin by introducing you to two types of women I work with and by the end of it, you’ll self identify which woman you resonate with most.

Why does this matter?

Simplicity.

Isn’t that what we all crave? 

I’ve been in this industry long enough to see how confusing ‘health’ can be.

Especially as women.

Your conditions are merely symptoms of a deeper-rooted issue.

Many of the answers to the conditions you have lay in the framework I’m going to teach you today.

Conditions like:

Hormonal imbalances – heavy, painful, irregular periods.

Emotional and mental instabilities – Brain fog, Moodiness, Overwhelm, Snappy behaviour.

Why do you tend to burn out?

Why do you feel sucked-dry of energy?

Why doesn’t life feel fun anymore?

Why do you feel frustrated and uninspired?

The answers lay in the differences between the two types of women I’ve observed in my practice.

Actually, not so much the type as much as how she operates in the world.

How she uses her body energy to live her life.

Meet Kimberly.

She’s an ambitious go-getter.

She’s confident and experienced in the marketplace and knows how and where to push to see results in her job or business.

A kick-ass businesswoman.

She’s busy and has a demanding job.

She’s the breadwinner in her household.

Often the only woman in a male-dominant workplace – striving, competing – to be seen and heard against all odds.

She’s determined. Hard-working. Relentlessly paving her way to the top.

She’s a professional.

Educated.

Often has multiple degrees under her belt (maybe even a Ph.D.).

She’s incredibly smart, talented, skilled and…. tired.

Actually she’s exhausted.

She secretly wonders what’s the point of it all.

Kimberly feels good at work but unsuccessful at home.

She misses the kids.

She craves to spend more time with them.

Dreams of vacations and time off just to catch up with them.

She has a nanny and a housekeeper, but she misses home.

She wishes to have more time.

When she leaves the house she exits her body.

She isn’t satisfied with her marriage. Her sex life is so-so. It’s good but not great.

Her husband isn’t the man she hoped he’d be.

She often considers separation but knows this will shatter the kids.

Her man isn’t a great husband but is a great dad.

Women like Kimberly tend to come into my practice feeling guilty because seemingly, she has everything.

The career, a family, the house, cars, vacations, a convenient lifestyle…

Still, something isn’t enough.

Women like Kimberly often use birth control pills for most of their lives and when they get off of it, experience their emotions for the first time and don’t know what to do with them.

Kimberly often wonders why her body is so messy? She wants to get her periods under control

She feels afraid, disgusted and even mad at femininity.

She questions herself. Often grumpy.

She has vicious dreams, and spirals down on an emotional roller coaster.

Food gives her a wicked handover.

She feels unstable, unbalanced, wobbly.

She wonders – what is wrong with me?

She never really got to know herself. 

Meet Melissa.

Melissa is a SAHM (or works but not her life’s work).

She’s dedicated her life to her family.

She spends loads of energy trying to please everybody and rarely takes time for herself.

She depends on her husband financially and dreams of financial independence.

Melissa has a vision of starting a blog, or a business she can run from home working part-time hours in between her household responsibilities.

She knows it’s possible, she’d seen other women doing it.

She knows she can do it too.

But for some reason, she never gets to it.

She promised herself to get up early in the morning but never does.

She knows she needs to be consistent, but never has the energy to stick with it.

Her days are hectic with her waking up with the kids and feeling moody.

Sometimes she gets stubborn and doesn’t want to be around anyone (husband and kids included).

She just wants time for herself. Alone. 

Every now and then she has breakdowns and lashes out.

Mental and emotional breakdowns cause her trouble in her marriage and with the kids.

She’s infested with fear, confusion and regret.

She’s stressed about money.

She often wonders when will she be making her own money?

She wants her husband to be proud of her, but instead, he judges her and can’t understand why she’s not coping.

When he gets upset, she gets upset and tends to lose focus.

He spends hours upon hours trying to ‘fix’ and analyze her by acting like her ‘therapist’.

She feels trapped and ‘domesticated’.

She feels like she’s lost herself in the life of motherhood and being a wife.

She doesn’t believe she has the power to break the generational pattern she has been born into.

She feels alone and craves community.

Melissa wants to belong to something bigger than herself and her family.

In terms of health conditions, women like Melissa, complain about conditions like irregular and heavy periods (thyroid and adrenal issues), adult acne, weight gain, bulky arms and back, brain fog, cognitive and mental issues, short-term-memory-loss and emotional eating.

She wonders – what is wrong with me?

So today you’re going to learn three steps on how to understand yourself as a woman so you can become the confident, energized and passionate woman you were destined to be on your own terms. 

This is the foundation to creating a life that works for you instead of against you. This training will help you become a victor instead of a victim of life’s circumstances. You have the power to have anything you want.

How to Mom 18 kids without burning out? (ep-161)

Today on the podcast I’m chatting with Jenn Taylor from www.momof18.com.

Jenn is mom to 18 kids. Yes, you’ve read that right, eighteen.

Some of those kids are biological and some are adopted and others are from foster care. I loved how Jenn said, ‘all of them are mine and don’t ever ask me that again’.

18 children have blessed her life. She went through infertility, seven pregnancies and has 12 years of foster parenting under her belt, plus a few more working at a non-profit with foster kids.

She’s been a stay-at-home Mom, homeschooling and making baby food from scratch, a Mom working in the corporate world and an Entrepreneurial Mom. She’s been divorced, and a single mom and She’s also experienced life with a blended family.

In the end, she was blessed to end up with kids from everywhere. More than “Yours, Mine and Ours” – an amalgam of foster children who aged out, adopted children, stepchildren, biological children and even a foreign exchange student.

Man, if that’s not inspiring I don’t know what is!

This was a conversation where I was listening more than talking because quite frankly, I find it fascinating and even impossible that someone can raise 18 children and come out on the other side not burnt out.

So, yet again, I was wrong.

As usual, I was projecting my own crap and fears.

If you find raising children wearying and if you believe that you’re burnt out because you have multiple children, wait until you hear Jenn’s story and more importantly her outlook and mindset.

By the end of this conversation, I observed myself feeling more empowered and trusting my abilities to raise ‘only’ tree kids.

You’ll hear Jenn respond to this comment with a beautiful analogy that changed everything for me. No matter how many kids we have, we are all parents. Being a parent is hard. It’s exhausting and challenging on so many levels but it’s also the thing that builds us up.

Motherhood and parenting allows us to be in the valley between mountains of opposing energies at all times.

You’re tired and energized at the same time.

You’re angry and in-love at the same time!

You’re inspired and depleted at the same time!

You’re happy, ecstatic and annoyed at the same time.

That’s the gift of motherhood for me.

Learning how to be OK ‘in the valley of motherhood’.

Because motherhood is simply one aspect of who you are, but you are so much more than that, Jenn is a great example of that.

She’s a mom of 18 kids, and also a minimalist, athlete, wife, bursting with sarcasm and humour. I just loved this conversation and can’t wait to share it with you!!

Diversity and Inclusivity Begin At Home (ep-158)

Today on the podcast we’re continuing the conversation about diversity, inclusivity, privilege, social injustice, profiling, discrimination and fairness among all human beings.

I believe that we are all children of God and deserve basic human rights, feeling like we belong in society and the world, feeling safe and acknowledged for who we are without discrimination, or the need to protect ourselves and our children constantly from bias, prejudice, injustice.

As a woman, wife and mother I wouldn’t want to live in a world where my life force energy is spent in the wrong places – like fearing my children aren’t safe on the streets, or not trusting authorities to protect us or treat us differently just because of the colour of my skin.

How Your Menstrual Cycle Responds To Stress (ep-155)

I know your dirty little secret…

July 15th, 2019

Hey mama,

This weekend my 3-year-old drove us crazy.

She wanted to wear four layers of dresses one on top of the other.

This makes her feel beautiful.

What she doesn't understand is that it's too hot and wearing so many layers will make it worse.

She feels stuff but doesn't know yet how to express it.

So there was a lot of screaming and frantic behavior.

I was on the verge of losing my mind.

She was absolutely hysteric.

It was then that a lightbulb went off for me.

I remembered an article I've read a couple of weeks ago about women's health a hundred years ago and that helped me to calm down.

This will blow your mind!

Do you know the real meaning of the word 'hysteria'?

Ready for it?

In Latin, it's 'suffering in the uterus'.

Yup.

You know what that means, right?

That being hysteric is a women's problem.

In other words, being born a woman is a curse.

You know this stigma right?

Men are not hysteric.

Men are perceived to be logical, rational, stable, linear, consistent.

Women, on the other hand, are hysteric.

It's almost like we are doomed to be anxious, illogical, inconsistent, and cray-cray just because we were born female.

I know your dirty little secret.

I know that you live your life on the cusp of losing control of:

your emotions,

your appetite,

your sexuality.

I know that sometimes, you're a hair-trigger away from exploding.

I know that deep inside you quietly believe that… well, you're too much.

I know that very often you feel like you’ve stepped inside the skin of a different person – that you are not being yourself.

I also know that you feel guilty and ashamed about it.

Very similarly to how my daughter felt.

I know that you're asking yourself:

'What's wrong with me?!'

"Why can't I get control of myself?'

I know because I'm a woman too.

I know how it feels to be a woman in a man's world.

To this day, women's health and pain are mostly not understood.

It's like trying to explain to my toddler that wearing four layers of puffy dresses one on top of the other is too hot.

She doesn't get it.

She doesn't care.

All she wants is to feel pretty.

This got me to think.

What if we're approaching women's health issues wrong?

* What if we are not giving women and girls the right tools to take care of themselves?

* What if instead of being logical and rational with my daughter I tried to think like her?

* What if I understood her emotionally instead of sending her the signal that she is hysteric?

So I did.

Wanna know what happened?

She burst in tears.

Gave me a huge hug.

And allowed me to take off the dresses.

She felt like mommy gets her.

What if we don't get ourselves?

What if our very own woman-ness is not yet understood?

What if this is the real reason for our struggles?

Struggles at home.

Struggles at work.

Struggles with relationships.

What would happen if you started understanding yourselves better?

How would this change your:

* health?

* work?

* parenting?

* marriage?

* sex life?

Think about this.

Why is it that to this day when a woman says how she feels, what she wants or what she needs, someone always knows better?

Her doctor, her mom/dad, her teacher, her husband...

What would happen if you've owned your woman-ness more?

How would your life look and feel like if you lived in alignment with your feminine current instead of against it?

What difference would this make to our daughters to think of themselves as 'normal' instead of 'hysteric'? 

This is not wishful thinking.

This is possible.

This is the most sustainable way to live as a woman, wife, and mother.

I have been living in alignment with my feminine current for the past five years and I have personally coached dozens of women through the same process.

Am I Depressed?

Hey mama, 

This week I got an email from a client and in it, she wrote:

'I get these spells of time and I question if I'm depressed.

Seemingly everything is OK.

I have a husband and a daughter. I'm not majorly ill, barely a sinus issue, I have a good life, I have an anniversary and a birthday this week, we're going out tonight and away for the weekend, but nothing really brings me joy right now.

I don't have to feel happiness 24/7 but I should feel something and I just feel numb right now.'

Are you familiar with this feeling?

I know I am. 

More often than I would like I am flooded with low energy, feel very drained and tired.

I don't want to do anything - get ready, go out, be nice, smile or talk. 

All the things that we have to do to 'show up' in our lives, right?

So what should you do?

How To Eat Healthy While Traveling? [ep-109]

Hey mama, 

As the days are getting warmer I know many of you are planning to get away with your families and eating healthier becomes a chore or something that is perceived as "hard". 

I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to be like that. 

Instead of focusing on "how to eat healthy while you're gone" focus on "how do you want to feel when you travel (for vacation, with or without kids or for business)". 

This question helps you to reframe the entire process and get you out of overwhelm. 

You know that eating healthy is simple - eat less move more. 

Simple, but you and I know this is not easy.

When you set yourself up for success and plan ahead, then it becomes easy peasy.

Your job is to make this whole thing seem manageable and doable. 

And honestly, it is not that big of a deal. 

When you prioritize yourself, you learn to take actions that support who you want to become and how you want to feel, everything else is nonsense. 

No matter where you are, at home or away, why would you want to feel anything less than your best?

Let that sink in for a moment.

Hate Seeing Yourself In The Mirror? [ep-108]

Hey mama, 

Meet Linda. 

A 42-year-old wife and mama to two beautiful girls.

An executive at a thriving start-up company. 

She has everything she ever wanted. According to her parents she 'won' at life.

So why does she feel like crap?

She is confused.
She doesn't feel in control of her health.
She doesn't feel like she knows what she's doing. 
She knows that she had neglected herself and her marriage.
She has zero interest in sex (her husband is pissed off about it). 
She's afraid that she's screwing up her kids. 
She's burnt out. 
In other words, she is 'sucked dry'. 

Linda also can't stand seeing herself in the mirror. She hates her body. 
She wishes to be thinner and feels betrayed by her body. 

One thing Linda is sure of is that she is DONE. 

Done suffering. 
Done struggling. 
Done feeling stuck. 
Done feeling like a victim. 
Done complaining and bitching about how bad she feels. 

Linda is ready and willing to listen.

Finally

She had heard me say that today's women suffer because of two factors that drag women down. Until she learns to set herself free from both of those things she will continue to suffer.

‘Self-care’ is not enough to fix how much moms are burnt out [ep-107]

Today on the show I talk about the one topic that is nagging at us, moms, like crazy. Constantly.

Work-life balance. 

Oh man. If I could get a dime for every time I've heard a mama complain about this I'd be rich by now. 

On the one hand, we're bombarded with well-meaning advice about how to find balance as a mom. 

On the other, you'll find experts, gurus, authors, creators, coaches, and others we look up to openly say that there is no such thing as balance. In other words, get used to living like a crazy person. 

Hustle/chaos/insanity is a part of the deal. Embrace it. 

I. Don't. Agree.

Anxiety In Motherhood: How I Learned To Calm, Self-Sooth And Control My Fears [EP-106]

Have you ever asked yourself,

"What is wrong with me?"

"Why can't I get my shit together?"

"Why am I always afraid and anxious that something really bad is going to happen?!"

"Why am I never calm? Why do I worry about stupid things?"

Here's the truth, anxiety in motherhood is a real thing. 

There are so many reasons why we moms feel anxious, "am I doing this right? Mom guilt, comparing yourself to others, feeling like you are missing out, should you have another baby, can you love another baby the same way?" An so on and so forth...

It is clear that living in a constant state of high stress and anxiety is detrimental to your health and the health of your family, so today on the show I talk about how I manage anxiety in my own life and practical tips to hopefully help you feel calmer, self-soothe and have a greater sense of control over your life. 

Remember that you are enough and you deserve to take care of yourself. 

Choose yourself first ALWAYS.

What Do You Wish For When You Blow Your Birthday Candles? [ep-105]

Hey love, 

Today I have a challenge for you. 

I want you to give yourself permission to dive deeper into yourself. 

I want you to ask yourself, "what do I wish for when I blow out my birthday candles?"

In other words, what do I REALLY want?

Here are some examples from my clients (and some of my own):

"I wish I could eat whatever I could and still feel and look great"

"I wish I had more spaciousness and peace of mind in my life"

"I wish I didn't have to work so hard to lose the weight"

"I wish life was easier"

"I wish my husband desired me more"

"I want to have more fun"

"I wish I could dance again"

Now it's your turn. Go deep and don't hold back! 

This is such an important piece when it comes to healing your relationship with your body, your health, your finances, your relationships with people, etc. 

In order to truly heal yourself, you need to start with the truth and build up from there. 

Choose yourself first, ALWAYS. 

Because (and you already know this) you cannot pour from an empty cup.
